OOAK Victorian Fruit Knife Necklace with Turquoise
This one is a little different, not a penknife but rather a Victorian fruit knife! Folding fruit knives were developed from folding penknives which were first created around the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Presumably, some time after the development of the folding penknife someone used it to carve up fruit. Who that person was we have no idea, but it was a natural progression since the folding penknife was easy to hold in one hand to slice.
Vintage sterling silver Victorian Fruit Knife measures 3 1/4" closed without the bale. Hand selected Kingman Turquoise stones added in house.
Chain: 32" sterling silver signature mixed-link style chain with intricate transitions. Heavy luxe feel. Lots of metal in that chain. Vintage "kiss" lock closure.
